About the House

La Maison 21 is in the village of Berthegon which is situated between the Loire to the north or the Poitou region to the south.

The front of the property looks onto the village square whilst the back of the garden overlooks farmland. It is perfect for relaxing and strolling in the large garden or taking walks in the local forest or along the Ligne Verte (a railway line that has been converted into a cycling and walking route).

Further afield you can discover where Joan of Arc went to meet the uncrowned Charles VII at the Château of Chinon, see the tomb of Richard the Lionheart at Fontevraud, or laze along the banks of the Loire and the Vienne.

There are supermarkets and markets in the nearby towns of Richelieu, Loudun, Lencloître and Mirebeau, all within a ½ hour drive.
